![]() ![]() KH28, 1985, 2000 hours and she says her sons and husband rebuilt the engine, seems early but don't have details on why it was rebuilt or was it just a tune up. Husband passed on and left his wife with a bunch of equipment and stuff and a bit of junk. Its a little dirty and most of the cyls show a little oil staining but not pouring oil out. Neighbor of a friend's MIL has a kubota excavator, KH28. Which one of these two machines do you think is going to be the strongest all around machine and open more doors for me? I have priced both machines and they are practically going to be the same price! The minimal tail swing would def be nice but it is not my main concern. I'm wanting to start getting into septic work and demo work with the added reach, digging depth, and lifting capacity of this size machine. I do retaing walls (natural rock, block, rail road ties), clear lots, dig footings, rip up concrete and asphalt, drainage work, grading, patios. I currently have a cat 303.5 that I push to its limits every time I use it. I thought that the whole reason they came out with the e55 conventional tail swing was to make the lifting capacities and what not better? Im lost on making up my mind and wanted to see if I could get some of your inputs! I know that you can't always go off of the specs but I there are no e55s around for me to demo and run to compare it to the e50. When I'm comparing the two machines the e50 (with the long arm) still specs out better than the e55 when it comes to arm force and lifting capacities. If I buy the e50 then it will have the long stick on it so I can get the best digging depth out of it. ![]() I am about to buy me a new excavator and I am down to buying the e50 or e55. Times have changed, I am curious what the driver is. I am curious what some of the different views on this are. I am not a real fan of a conventional tail mini ex but they still seem to sell, so others must see value in them. What do you guys think about this and why? For instance, one thing I do not understand is why both Kubota and Bobcat offer 3.2 ton conventional tail excavator. Here is what I would see as an ideal mini-ex OEM line-up: 2.7 ton zero tail, 3.5 ton conventional tail, 3.5 zero tail, 4.3 ton conventional tail and a 5.5 ton zero tail. Are you guys buying certain machines based on transport weight to avoid the CDL requirements or is it certain performance abilities with the machines? I enjoyed easily towing it, as opposed to my TB153 which is just over 13K lbs as specd. Its slightly heavier than a typical 3.5 ton machine but it had excellent reach. Here is what I discovered with the Wacker Neuson 38Z3. What is driving this? I would like to know your guys opinion on who has the best line-up and why? I know the 3.5 sized machine is the most popular but every OEM seems to have a different philosophy in what other machines they offer around that machine. I am curious what you guys think about the current market machine weights, tail swings and horsepower in the 2.7 5.5 ton weight range. Things seem to be changing some in the way OEMs are marketing these machines. I have changed the hydraulic filters and fluid with no change in any of the symptoms. The continuity of the cable harness to the boom sensors A decal picture inside the cab, in Japanese,` has an arrow pointing to this alarm light on the control panel and another associated picture showing the boom and the bucket crashing into the cab front window. There is an alarm standing is at all times since these functions stopped working. The bucket opens and closes, turret (cab) rotates left and right, blade works up and down, tracks work forward and reverse. Symptoms: boom functions moving down but NOT up, boom articulation functions to the right but NOT to the left, thumb opens but will NOT close. Cant tell weather its from the boom sensors and or wiring or hydraulic failure of some kind. My issue is some of the hydraulic functions have stopped functioning. Its grey market which brings all those GR issues with it. It has been a great worker for 5 or so years. ![]()
